RJ Smith expanded into VDOT road construction in 2002 after being awarded a portion of Route 288 between the Henrico and Powhatan, Virginia county lines.
In 2004, we hired an Area Manager with signficant knowledge and experience managing VDOT projects -- from top-level administration to overseeing qualified and competent WBE/DBE subcontractors.
We have risen to the unique challenges of this industry and have been meeting aggressive construction schedules at great speeds on the interstate highways ever since.
And as an added value, we self perform road construction, underground utilities, hauling and flagging services.
